The Sam Hartsel Lodge is a historic facility located on the Hartsel Springs Ranch – a working buffalo ranch located in South Park, Colorado. The lodge and cabins have been renovated and converted to provide luxurious access to fishing, horseback riding, hiking and myriad of outdoor recreation.
Located 1.5 hours from Colorado Springs and 2 hours from Denver, the Hartsel Springs Ranch and Sam Hartsel Lodge are a perfect, easily accessed overnight getaway. The ranch feature stables of horses and over 100 head of buffalo. The setting of wide-open, high-alpine plains rimmed by austere snow covered peaks provides a setting reminiscent of a century ago in time as the west must have been for the fur trappers, gold prospectors, and cattlemen of yesteryear.
The ranch is seated at the confluence of the Middle and South Forks of the South Platter River - a coveted Gold Medal Wild Trout stream.
